National Assembly's Sub-Committee on Government Assurance met here on Friday under its Convener Shahzadi Umerzadi Tiwana. The Standing Committee on Government Assurances had constituted the sub-committee to monitor all pending assurances and get them implemented.
On Friday, the sub-committee examined the issue referred to it by the committee regarding complaint of Ramesh Lal and Lal Chand Malhi that a picture of a political party head has been posted as Lord Shiva on social media websites which harmed religious sentiments of their community.
The committee also discussed other pending assurances related to Housing and Works Division, especially the assurance No 638 given by Moulana Ameer Zaman, Federal Minister for Postal Services (on behalf of minister for housing and works) on the floor of the House.
In reply to a question under a calling attention notice raised by Zeb Jaffar, the House was assured that the allotment of official accommodations to the employees of constitutional bodies including National Assembly and Senate Secretariats would be restored after the approval of summary by the Prime Minister.
The deputy speaker directed the minister to get the said summary passed at the earliest. The committee also considered assurance No 578 related to Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, assurances related to States and Frontier Regions Division, consideration of three implementation reports of assurances including assurances No 422, 464,592 and other implementation reports.
