Smartphone manufacturer Lenovo has released an all new edge-to-edge screen, in-display fingerprint sensor, slider phone that packs a whopping 12GB RAM, first time ever for smartphones.

At an event held yesterday in Beijing, Lenovo unveiled its new Z5 Pro GT loaded up amazing features including an edge-to-edge display without any notch, slider for the two selfie cameras and the earpiece, and RAM up to 12GB, setting up a new record for smartphones, also accompanied by storage of up to 512GB.

The phone comes in two versions, one with 128GB RAM or one with 6GB RAM, and also offers two versions of storage: 512GB or 128/256GB. Other than that, Lenovo Z5 Pro GT features dual 16MP + 24MP rear camera, and dual 16MP + 8MP front cameras.

Turns out Lenovo’s all-screen smartphone was just a lie

The phone also comes in with an exceptional Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chip – the second ever device  announced to feature the new chip after OnePlus’ yet-to-named device – a 3,350mAh battery life, face recognition, in-display fingerprint sensor and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo. However, one turn-off of the phone is its lack of headphone jack, instead user would get a USB-C dongle for the headphones.

Apart from incorporating incredible specifications, Lenovo Z5 Pro GT also has an attractive appearance with red flashy detailing. It stands out with a red metallic frame around the screen and red rims around both main cameras, described Engadget.

The phone will be available only in China for now and will start pre-orders on January 15, 2019, after being completely launched on January 24, 2019. Also, it lacks LTE band support, which makes it useless for people in the US. The phone will be priced at 2,689 yuan (about $390) for the 6GB RAM/128GB storage, and 4,398 yuan (about $640) for the 12GB RAM/ 512GB storage, reported Android Police.
