PTI to file disqualification reference against Asif Ali Zardari: Fawad Chaudhry

Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry announced on Wednesday Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf plan to file a disqualification reference against Pakistan Peoples' Party (PPP) co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari.

Addressing a press conference today, the information minister said Zardari had concealed his assets before the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). He added that under Article 62/63 section, he was bound to declare his assets, which Zardari did not. "Zardari is not eligible to remain a member of the parliament anymore," Chaudhry added.

He said PTI has given the responsibility regarding this to Sindh lawmaker Khurram Sherzaman. He added that PTI has directed Sherzaman to file a reference in the ECP against Zardari.

Information minister further said that Zardari and Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz leader Nawaz Sharif both contested their last elections, adding that there was no future for them in politics.
