K-Electric (KE) clinched the CAA T20 Cricket Tournament 2018 with a 7-wicket win over the Civil Aviation team in the final.
The tournament was organized by the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA); two of their teams participated alongside Medicam and KE at the CAA Cricket Ground, Karachi. CAA won the toss and batted first, posting a target of 160 in 20 overs. K-Electric's Usman took 3 wickets, with Faraz Ahmed and Ibtesam bagging one each. KE scored the winning runs in the 18th over, finishing on 162/3. Usman was the highest scorer with 67 while Jehanzaib Sultan and Danish Aziz scored 32 runs apiece.
Rising star Hasan Khan, who KE has groomed for three years, during which he has represented Pakistan at the U-19 World Cup and Quetta Gladiators in two editions of the Pakistan Super League, said the win showed KE Sports is focused on creating future champions for Pakistan.
KE's Head of Sports Mahmood Riaz lauded the collective team effort and stated that the win was a testament to KE Sports' investment in excellence. "The young talent again proved that they only need a platform and proper guidance to give star performances," he said.
KE will next participate in the Naya Nazimabad, Moin Khan and Asghar Ali Shah Ramazan Cricket Tournaments, where it will showcase promising young talents who hope to emulate former KE players currently featuring for Pakistan in the Test series in Ireland and England, such as Shadab Khan, Asad Shafiq and the national captain, Sarfraz Ahmed.-PR
