Last month, Tareen expressed his intention to acquire the sixth team after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) terminated the franchise agreement with Schon Properties Broker LLC which granted franchise rights of the Multan Sultans, one of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) team.
Talking to a private news channel , Tareen said, “If we win the rights of the sixth team we will continue with the name Multan.”
As a result of this termination, all rights in respect of the team were reverted back to PCB.
As per PCB, the termination was brought about due to Schon Properties Broker LLC inability to meet its financial obligations under the Agreement.
PCB confirmed that the fourth edition of PSL will go ahead as planned with six teams and the same number of matches.
