Terming the Pakistan Kidney & Liver Transplant Institute (PKLI) as a role model project, the Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that efforts are being made to start kidney transplantation there as soon as possible. Chairing a high-level meeting held in the committee room of the PKLI, to review the progress of second phase of PKLI, Shahbaz asked the authorities concerned to start transplantation of kidney as soon as possible at the PKLI.
He expressed satisfaction that the PKLI is providing free of cost treatment facilities to the deserving kidney and liver patients. He said that implementation of decisions made by the steering committee should be ensured within the stipulated timeframe. "We have to work hard for serving the ailing humanity," he said.
Provincial Minister for Health Kh Salman Rafique, Chief Secretary, Chairman Board of Governors Pakistan Kidney & Liver Transplant Institute Dr Saeed Akhtar, Chairman P&D, Additional Chief Secretary and others were present on the occasion.
