Syndicate of Women University Swabi (WUS) has approved Rs 544.29 million budget for year 2018-19 during its meeting held at the university campus in district Swabi on Wednesday. This was stated by the officials of the university after attending the meeting held at the university campus in district Swabi. The syndicate meeting held under chairmanship of Vice Chancellor of WUS, Professor Dr Khanzadi Fatima Khattak.
Dr Muhammad Latif, Advisor, Research and Development, Higher Education Commission (HEC), Professor Dr Zilakat Khan, University of Peshawar, Professor Dr Saeed Anwar, Professor Dr Amir Zada, Professor Dr Misal Zada, Principal, Government Girls Degree College, Maneri, Muhammad Saeedullah, Deputy Secretary, Establishment Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Ayaz Khan, provincial Deputy Secretary, Higher Education Department, Muhammad Sheraz, Deputy Secretary, Finance department and academia of the university were also attended the meeting.
The syndicate has approved the budget for the year 2018-19, revised budget for the year 2017-18 and university's Annual Report for the year 2016-17, officials said.
They said that the forum also approved the minutes of seventh meeting of Academic Council and third meeting of finance and planning committee. They said that the construction of the WUS campus at Kotha, near Sahibzada Khursheed Memorial Degree College Kotha, was also discussed, expressing satisfaction on speedy work while expecting that the new campus would completed in a short span of time.
Participants also lauded the VC for becoming the first Pakistani female academic to receive the fellowship of world prestigious Royal Society of Chemistry, United Kingdom.
Professor Khanzadi said that the university is committed to provide contemporary education and inculcate the spirit of social responsibility in the students to enable them to play a constructive role in progress and prosperity of the country. "Education is the only key with which we could unlock many locks," she said.
