The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has issued reminders to both federal and provincial departments for defaults worth Rs 1.11 billion and Rs 2.91 billion, respectively. Meanwhile, the LESCO has also disconnected power supply to the Kot Lakhpat Jail for defaulting Rs 60 million.
According to details, LESCO Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mujahid Pervaiz Chatta has issued reminders to both federal and provincial departments for early clearance of their dues to avoid disconnection. The LESCO list suggests that WASA has to pay Rs 900 million, followed by Rs 360 million by Irrigation, Rs 100 million by Saman Abad zone, Rs 120 million by Data Ganj Bakhsh zone, Rs 90 million by Ravi zone and Rs 70 million by Shalimar zone.
Similarly, both Iqbal and Gulberg zones are defaulters of Rs 60 million each, Wagha and Aziz Bhatti zones of Rs 30 million each, followed by Punjab jail worth Rs 70 million, district health worth Rs 80 million, Punjab police worth Rs 50 million, Punjab Highway worth Rs 50 million, Punjab University worth Rs 30 million, PHA worth Rs 30 million, LDA worth Rs 20 million, Nishtar Town worth Rs 20 million, Services Hospital worth Rs 20 million and TEPA worth Rs 18.7 million.
In addition, the Punjab Assembly is a defaulter of Rs 3.2 million, followed by Rs 40 million by NHA, Rs 20 million by Cabinet Secretariat, Rs 20 million by LESCO, Rs 7.1 million by Archeology department and Rs 3.6 million by SNGPL.
