The Karachi Port handled 221,660 tonnes of cargo comprising 132,518 tonnes of import cargo and 89,142 tonnes of export cargo including 3,957 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 132,518 tonnes comprised of 53,976 tonnes of containerised cargo; 28,273 tonnes of coal; 7,319 tonnes of soyabean meal; 36,860 tonnes of DAP and 6,090 tonnes of rock phosphate.
The total export cargo of 89,142 tonnes comprised of 35,073 tonnes of containerised cargo; 223 tonnes of bulk cargo; 4,354 tonnes of wheat and 34,900 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 3,957 containers comprising of 2,080 containers import and 1,877 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 989 of 20's and 540 of 40's loaded while 11 of 20's and nil of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 156 of 20's and 376 of 40's loaded containers while 225 of 20's and 372 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were nine ships namely YM Eminence, Malikos, Libra, Leopard Sun, Selin-D, Rising, ETE-N, Meltemi and UMM Ad Dalkh carrying containers, oil tankers, rock phosphote and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were five vessels viz. Hyundai Global, Libra, Orient Star, FPMC-17 and Mallard carrying containers, oil tankers and tug respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 145,628 tonnes comprising 115,704 tonnes of import cargo and 29,924 tonnes of export cargo including 2,131 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 115,704 tonnes includes 31,500 tonnes of furnace oil; 10,570 tonnes of palm oil; 17,809 tonnes of coal; 5,000 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 28,000 tonnes of LNG; 9,260 tonnes of phosphoric acid; 1,500 tonnes of bitumen and 12,065 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 29,924 tonnes includes; 1,500 tonnes of wheat and 28,424 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 2,131 containers comprising of 635 containers import and 1,496 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday. There were four ships namely CV Nicoline Maersk, MV Bravo-V, MT FPMC P Eagle and MT CGT Cobalt carrying containers, coal, diesel oil and palm oil respectively sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while another ship namely CV MS Tiger carrying containers is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eleven vessels viz. CV MS Tiger, CV Nicoline Maersk, MV Inlaco Bright, MV Reem-5, MV Bravo-5, MV Thassos, MV Sea Lavender, MV Hyde Park, MT Maran Gas Mystres, MT FPMC P Eagle and MT CGT Cobalt were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, wheat, soyabean seeds, coal, phosphoric acid, LNG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as seventeen ships namely CV Mediterranean Bridge, CV Seaspan Oceania, MV Maersk Pearl, MV Navios Centarus, MV Avalon, MV Valadon, MV Coventry, MV YM Miranda, MT Maria-III, MT Totonno Bottiglieri, MT Sovereign, MT Komome Victoria, MT Al-Soor-II, MT Jo Pinari, MT Glorious, MT Manueta Boligliri and MT Sino Energy-8 carrying containers, condensate, soyabean, canola seeds, chemical, LPG, furnace oil, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five vessels viz. CV Mediterranean Bridge, CV Seaspan Oceania, MV Darya Mahyesh, MT Glorious and MT Sino Energy-8 carrying containers, coal, diesel oil and palm oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Iron Ore & Coal Berth, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Monday. There were three ships namely CV MSC Stridy, CV Yun Jing and CV APL Miami carrying containers respectively due to arrive on Monday.
