On Friday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 3,492. The traded value of Metals, Energy and COTS/FX was recorded at 6.125 billion and the number of lots traded was 12,885. Major business was contributed by WTI crude oil amounting to PKR 2.081 billion, followed by gold PKR 1.382 billion, currencies through COTS PKR 1.090 billion, SP500 PKR 316.678 million, platinum PKR 305.768 million, NSDQ100 PKR 277.841 million, natural gas PKR 223.361 million, DJ PKR 183.369 million, silver PKR 107.225 million, copper PKR 100.157 million and Brent PKR 56.903 million. In agriculture, 176lots of cotton amounting to PKR 459.503 million were traded.
