Mercury touched 50 degrees Celsius in Moen-Jo-Daro, as Met Office on Tuesday forecast another heat waves spell for Karachi during the next 2 days. Hot weather simmered Shaheed Benazirabad, Larkana, Dadu, Jacobabad, Lasbella, Zhob, Sibbi and Bahawalnagar 49 degrees Celsius, each, and Padidan, Sukkur, Rohri, Turbat and Rahim Yar Khan 48, each, on Tuesday.
With temperature up to 44 degrees Celsius, humidity is expected to remain 60 percent in Karachi. "Another heat wave spell is likely to prevail over Karachi and surrounding area from Tuesday 29-05-2018 to 31-05-2018. Maximum temperature is expected to remain in the range of 41-44 °C during the period.
Wind blowing from west to northwest direction and become southwest during this period," the Met said. Temperature in Sukrand was 46 degrees Celsius, Hyderabad 45, Chhor 44, Mithi 43, Mirpurkhas 42, Badin, Thatta and Karachi 41, each.
"A shallow westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist during next 24 hours," it said, forecasting a mainly hot and dry weather for the most parts of the country on Wednesday. Very hot weather in Sindh, South and Central Punjab, D I Khan, Sibbi and Makran Divisions are expected.
