The Lahore district administration held a meeting here on Tuesday to review the security arrangements for a procession relating to Hazarat Ali's martyrdom day. Deputy Commissioner Lahore Sameer Ahmed Syed chaired the meeting which was also attended by leading religious leaders. He directed the concerned officials to inspect the route of the procession with the license holders which will be taken out on 21st Ramazan.
He said that a comprehensive security arrangement should be made for the procession. "The members of Civil Defence and the Scotts will join the police on the procession day to provide security," he added. He further told the meeting that CCTV cameras will be placed on the route that will be linked to a make-shift control room and make-shift hospitals will also be set up on the route.
He directed the concerned officials to ensure that all road patch work is completed and adequate lighting is provided before the procession day. He also asked them to ensure no encroachments on the rout of procession.
