The Lahore High Court on Wednesday adjourned to September 18 for further arguments on maintainability of a petition seeking directives that the parliament is the most powerful institution of the country. The petitioner Foundation for Justice through A K Dogar argued that the state used its power through the elected representative of the people. He said across the board accountability was required for the development of the country but in violation of Article 25 of the constitution the judges and generals are not accountable before any institution.
The petitioner questioning the formation of Supreme Judicial Council said that nobody could be judge of its own accountability.
