Intense heat weaves are expected to grip the most parts of the country with temperature surpassing over 40 degrees Celsius in the next five days, the Met Office has said. However, the sizzling hot weather is now likely to subside gradually in Karachi with resuming of sea breeze to pull down the temperature to its normal range between 35 degrees to 37 degrees Celsius from Friday through next week.
Intense heat with temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius are likely batter the sub-mountainous areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir, while around 50 degrees Celsius in Sindh rural areas, Southern and Central Punjab and Eastern Balochistan during the period.
There is 30 percent chance of isolated rain and sandstorm in Rawalpindi and Malakand Divisions until next Wednesday. Weather in Karachi is expected to go warm with a maximum 38 degrees Celsius on Friday and Saturday and humidity to range up 80 percent.
Maximum temperature in Sindh on Thursday recorded was 50.8 degrees Celsius in Dadu, while Jacobabad and Moen-Jo-Daro 51 each, Larkana and Sukkur 49.5 each, Rohri 48.5 degrees Celsius, Nawabshah and Padidan 47.5 each, Mithi 46 and Mirpurkhas 45.5 each Hyderabad 46.5, Chhor 46.4, Sukrand 44, Badin 43.5, Thatta 42.5, and Karachi 38.4.
Sibbi and Bhakkar sizzled with 49 degrees Celsius each, Noorpur Thal, Lasbella and Turbat 48 each and D I Khan 46, the Met forecast a very hot and dry weather for the most parts of the country on Friday. "Continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country," it said.
