Both announced and unannounced load shedding of electricity is on the rise in the city as the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) is unable to meet demand amidst limited supply from the national grid. Sources said power supply to a total of 419 feeders remained suspended on Tuesday, out of which 220 feeders were exposed to unannounced load shedding.
The sources are of the view that demand for electricity is on the rise with rise in temperature and they have no option but to manage the load through announced and unannounced load shedding.
Consumers have started complaining against the rising frequency of load shedding, saying that power supply was being denied even during the Sehr and Iftar times.
Also a large number of consumers have criticised LESCO for over-billing, saying that the meter mafia has become active once again and sending them inflated bills.
