The Karachi Port handled 298,690 tonnes of cargo comprising 220,402 tonnes of import cargo and 78,288 tonnes of export cargo including 5,519 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 220,402 tonnes comprised of 94,872 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,168 tonnes of bulk cargo; 10,230 tonnes of rock phosphate; 58,072 tonnes of coal; 9,174 tonnes of DAP; 981 vehicles and 44,800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 78,288 tonnes comprised of 40,412 tonnes of containerised cargo; 310 tonnes of bulk cargo; 17,750 tonnes of loose bulk cement; 4,868 tonnes of clinkers; 9,048 tonnes of wheat and 10,150 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 5,519 containers comprising of 2,968 containers import and 2,551 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,074 of 20's and 946 of 40's loaded while 02 of 20's and nil of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 186 of 20's and 222 of 40's loaded containers while 375 of 20's and 773 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were thirteen ships namely Northern Discovery, YM Cypress, Libra, CSCL Long Beach, Talassa, Cevdet A, BW Mia, Anton Schulte, Somerset, Al Mahboobah, Mandarin River, Glovis Safety and Chipolbrok Star carrying containers, oil tankers, chemical, coal, cement, vehicle and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were eleven vessels viz. CSCL Long Beach, Libra, Talassa, APL Japan, Cevdet A, Totonno Bottiglieri, Fateh-1, Houyoshi Park, Alster Bay, Metsovo and Glovis Safety carrying containers, oil tankers, coal, clinker and vehicle respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 222,019 tonnes comprising 185,843 tonnes of import cargo and 36,176 tonnes of export cargo including 3,010 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 185,843 tonnes includes 46,363 tonnes of furnace oil; 15,099 tonnes of palm oil; 52,524 tonnes of coal; 38,300 tonnes of LNG; 12,600 tonnes of chemical and 20,957 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 36,176 tonnes includes 36,176 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 3,010 containers comprising of 1,106 containers import and 1,904 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
There were four ships namely CV Cape Mayor, MV Loach Nevis, MT British Ruby and MT Horizon carrying containers, coal, LNG and palm oil respectively sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while another ship namely CV MS Tiger carrying containers is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eleven vessels viz. CV MS Tiger, CV CMA CGM Fidelio, CV Cape Mayor, MV Ken Wave, MV New Able, MV Mandarin Singapore, MV Loach Nevis, MV Coventry, MV Bunga Akasia, MT British Ruby, MT Iblea and MT Horizon were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, cement, coal, canola seeds, chemical, LNG, furnace oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as sixteen ships namely CV MSC Heidi, MV Reem-3, MV Amadeus, MV Slahia, MV Engla Dina, MV Forever SW, MV Jo Pinari, MT Caspian Gas, MT Maria-III, MT Omera Legaly, MT Sovereign, MT Al-Soor-II, MT Wall Eye, MT Muscat Silver, MT Eva Bergen and MT BW Cobalt carrying containers, bitumen, soyabean, canola seeds, coal, mogas, LPG, furnace oil, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five vessels viz. CV MSC Heidi, MV Red Daisey, MV Jo Pinari, MT Caspian Gas and MT Muscat Silver carrying containers, coal, mogas, LNG and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Grain & Fertilizer Terminal, Iron Ore & Coal Berth, Engro Elengy Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Monday.
There were three ships namely CV Maersk Kensington, CV MSC Athos and MV Red Daisey carrying containers and coal respectively due to arrive on Monday.
