The Met Office has forecast a pre-monsoon rain during Eid holidays mostly in upcountry from Saturday (today) until Monday. A pre-monsoon rain is likely to begin from Saturday in Pakistan.
"Moist currents will start to penetrate on Friday and rain-thundershower is expected in the country," it said. Scattered rain-thundershower with gusty winds and sandstorm is expected in Islamabad, Upper Punjab, Khyber Pukhtunkhwa, FATA and Kashmir, while isolated falls are likely in Sahiwal Division during the Eid holidays mainly from Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
Weather in Karachi is likely to remain partly cloudy with gusty winds during the Eid. Temperature is expected to range up to 35 degrees Celsius with a higher humidity level of 85 percent on Saturday and Sunday (June 16 and June 17). "Continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country. A westerly wave is likely to approach upper parts on Saturday any may persist during following two days," the Met said, forecasting a mainly very hot and dry weather is expected in the most parts of the country on Saturday.
Isolated falls with sandstorm are also likely to batter Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore and Sargodha Divisions, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir in the next 24 hours. A very hot weather gripped the country in the last 24 hours with a maximum temperature recorded in Sibbi as 50 degrees Celsius, Larkana 49, Jaccobabad, Mohenjo-Daro 48, Dadu, Peshawar and Sukkur 46, each.
