The Karachi Port handled 385,614 tonnes of cargo comprising 329,353 tonnes of import cargo and 56,261 tonnes of export cargo including 10,477 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 329,353 tonnes comprised of 175,422 tonnes of containerised cargo; 8,174 tonnes of bulk cargo; 8,570 tonnes of rock phosphate; 54,616 tonnes of coal and 82,571 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 56,261 tonnes comprised of 56,261 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 10,477 containers comprising of 5,185 containers import and 5,292 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. The breakup of imported containers shows 1,646 of 20's and 1,659 of 40's loaded while 03 of 20's and 109 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,012 of 20's and 394 of 40's loaded containers while 1,116 of 20's and 1,188 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were eleven ships namely MSC Ornella, APL England, Wieland, Virgo, Makhambet, E Transporter, Al Shroog, Jing Yu Zuo, Grand Choice, Nippon Highway and Jin Tao carrying containers, oil tanker, coal, chemical, mogas, vehicle and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were thirteen vessels viz. Wan Hai-503, MSC Ornella, Virgo, Wieland, Ever Union, Sima Giselle, MT Lahore, Kastav, Bomar Oyster, Amstel Lion, Grand Choice, Jin Tao and Zhong Xing Men carrying containers, oil tankers, coal, vehicle and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 223,142 tonnes comprising 179,575 tonnes of import cargo and 43,567 tonnes of export cargo including 3,910 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 179,575 tonnes includes 41,498 tonnes of furnace oil; 16,700 tonnes of palm oil; 48,948 tonnes of coal; 28,000 tonnes of LNG; 7,283 tonnes of canola seeds; 4,468 tonnes of phosphoric acid; 1,955 tonnes of kernel and 30,723 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 43,567 tonnes includes 43,567 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 3,910 containers comprising of 1,617 containers import and 2,293 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
There were five ships namely CV CMA CGM Tancred, CV MSC Nova, MV Ogino Park, MT Sovereign and MT Capilla carrying containers, chemical, diesel oil and palm oil respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while another ship namely CV MSC Bosan carrying containers is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of twelve vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Tancred, CV MSC Nova, CV MSC Bosan, MV Dewi Saras Wati, MV Ocean Princess-1, MV Engia Dina, MV Coventry, MV Lowland Future, MV Ogino Park, MT Cool Express, MT Sovereign and MT Capilla were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, kernel, coal, canola seeds, phosphoric acid, LNG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as eighteen ships namely MV Reem-3, MV Ocean Princess-1, MV Amadeus, MV Stahia, MV Arcadia, MV Navios Oriana, MT Maran Gas Ascieplus, MT Maria-III, MT Maersk Pearl, MT Lion-M, MT Sea Luck-III, MT Glorious, MT Freight Margie, MT Wall Eye, MT Silver Entalina, MT Chembulk Shanghai, MT Atlas and MT Madeiro carrying bitumen, soyabean, coal, LNG, LPG, furnace oil, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were seven vessels viz. CV Maersk Kinloss, CV X-press Suez, CV MSC Maria Elena, MV Reem-III, MT Maran Gas Ascieplus, MT Sea Luck-III and MT Madeiro carrying containers, bitumen, LNG, furnace oil and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Engro Elengy Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Tuesday. There were two ships namely CV MSC Maria Elena and CV MOL Gateway carrying containers respectively due to arrive on Tuesday.
