Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) has extended the last date for availing benefits of Sindh Sales Tax Relief Package (SSTRP) for a period up to June 30, 2018. According to SRB, the SSTRP, announced by the board with the approval of the Sindh government under SRB-3-4/11/2018 dated May 18, 2018, expired on June 20, 2018.
In deference to the requests received from various taxpayers and their associations, SRB has extended the last date for availing benefits of this package for a period up to June 30, 2018.
The relief package envisages total remission of penalty and wavier of 80 percent of the amount of default surcharge provided that the taxpayers deposits the liability of the arrears of tax due plus 20 per cent of the amount of default surcharge thereon by June 30, 2018.
The taxpayers and taxpayer's associations have already shown keen interest in the scheme as it provides substantial benefits and relief in return of their tax compliance. SRB has categorically stated that the last date - June 30, 2018 for availing of the benefits of the said relief package shall not be extended any further.
