Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA), an alliance of religious parties will hold it's a first-ever pre-election political power show in Peshawar today (Sunday).The announcement was made by the MMA provincial senior vice president, Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan while speaking at a news conference at Peshawar Press Club on Saturday.
He said that all arrangements have been finalized to organize the MMA its first public meeting in connection with electioneering campaign on Ring road Peshawar in befitting manner. He said the MMA will start journey of its revolution with this public gathering.
"We want to make Pakistan as more modern, developed and true welfare Islamic state, MMA leader said. He said that they would lay foundation an independent and sovereign country, wherein everyone will get free and speedy justice.
Flanked by the MMA provincial and district leaders, Dr Iqbal Khalil, Sabir Hussain Awan, Akhunzada Muzzafar, Mualana Mirajuddin, Abdul Wasay and Haji Abdul Jalil Jan, and others, Mushtaq Ahmad urged the masses to support the MMA cause and ensure their participation in today gathering in Peshawar.
He said the 'status-quo' politics has nurtured since the inception of the country. He said the country debts have been escalated to $185 billion during last 70-years. He alleged the rulers had received loans on name of Pakistan and accumulated in their foreign accounts.
Mushtaq Ahmad said the corruption is rampant in the country. He added that major issues like energy crisis, provision of clean drinking water, best health and education facilities to everyone and establishment of better road-infrastructure were unresolved.
"We have failed to establish Pakistan as independent and sovereign country during last 72 years", MMA leader lamented. Talking about manifesto of the MMA, Mushtaq Ahmad said the religious parties' alliance prime objective is to make Pakistan as a true Islamic welfare country, followed by elimination interest-based economic system, to raise core issues of Kashmir and Palestine, bringing back the looted national wealth to the country as well as provision of other basic amenities to the masses.
Responding to a question about deadlock regarding award of tickets, MMA leader said the they have almost resolved the issue, adding that the consensus has developed about 90 per cent National Assembly and 80 per cent of provincial assembly on awarding of ticket among the aspiring candidates to contest the general elections under the banner of the MMA. He informed that it is expected to announce the contestants name for the both NA and provincial assembly seats during the Peshawar gathering.
Without naming the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, Mushtaq Ahmad said the workers have staging protest outside headquarter of political parties against the unfair award of tickets. But, he claimed that MMA has resolved issue about awarding of ticket among aspiring candidates in a peaceful manner.
To another question, the MMA leader replied that the alliance would take final decision about seat-adjustment. He added no individual decision would be made in this regard. He claimed that MMA has awarded 95 per cent tickets to workers, while rest of five per cent to others on specific terms and conditions.
