Caretaker Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Justice Dost Mohammad Khan (Retd) has directed the Energy & Power Department to set aside the traditional procedure to bring modernism and activation in their working to achieve the desired targets in energy sector.
Presiding over a meeting of Energy & Power Department here at Chief Minister's Secretariat Saturday, the caretaker chief minister also directed for the prevention of the wastage of precious natural resource of water.
Besides, KP Minister for Energy & Power, Fazal Elahi, Principal Secretary to CM, Shahab Ali Shah, Secretary Energy, Saleem Khan and higher authorities of PEDO and KPOGCL also attended the meeting.
The chief minister said that the preserved water will be utilized for irrigation rather the electricity production will also be increased. He also called for the implementation of the energy projects as soon as possible to include more energy in the system and then use it in the larger public interest.
He said that the province is rich in natural resources and directed the authorities of the energy department for searching sites for production of 5 to 10 megawatt electricity to bring the country out of the prevailing energy crisis. He directed the making of feasibility and designs of the projects more feasible so they could be utilized for maximum benefits.
The chief minister directed for evolving procedure for the recruitment of the local young graduate engineers to utilize their educational capabilities and energies. He stressed need for the promotion of the principles of punishment and reward in departments so the good performing officials will get rewards and the negligent should be awarded punishments.
