Girls outshined boys in Secondary School Certificate (SSC) annual examination 2018 of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Peshawar. According to results announced by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Peshawar, Controller of Examination, Professor Malik Maqsood Anwar during a ceremony held at local hotel here on Thursday, 74,385 male and female candidates were appeared out of which 58,532 declared successful with passing percent of 78.68.
The Caretaker chief minister, retired Justice Dost Muhammad Khan was chief guest on the occasion. The board chairman Professor Dr Fazlur Rehman, Secretary Bakhtiyar Ahmad Khan, Controller Examination Professor Malik Maqsood Anwar, the position holders' students, their parents, teachers and principals of the schools were present on the occasion.
Students of Peshawar Model Girls School-II Dalazak Road Peshawar secured top three positions. Sarah Yousaf of the Science group got 1062 marks out of 1100 stood first, while second position was shared between Bakhtawar and Tuba Gul, by securing 1060 marks out of the 1100. Similarly, the third position was shared between Aneeba Muskan of Peshawar Model Girls School-II Dalazak Road Peshawar and Sunnia Shah of University Model School Peshawar, by gaining 1058 marks, out of the total 1100.
In Arts group, Linta Khan of Kids School System Gulbahar No-2 got 958 marks out of 1100 and Hussainullah of Usmania Children Academy Usmania Colony Nothia Jadeed Peshawar stood second by securing 939 marks out of the total 1100. While the third position was shared between Taniya Jamal of Forward Girls High School Peshawar and Sajidullah of Usmania Children Academy Usmania Colony Nothia Jadeed Peshawar by gaining 932 marks out of the total 1100.
According to the results in Science group, a total of 58,770 regular and private male and female candidates were appeared out of which 37, 086 declared successful with passing percentage of 63.1. Likewise, in Humanities group, as many as 21,356 regular and private male and female candidates were appeared in the examinations, out of which 6,090 passed with percentage of 28.52. As per results, in additional subjects, a total of 122 male and female candidates were taken examinations out of which declared successful with passing percentage of 50.00. On the occasion, the Model Girls-II School Dalazak Road Peshawar declared best institution of the year. The CM distributed shields and cash prizes among the position holders.
