Misappropriation of taxes & funds: KP NAB approves reference against senior auditor, others
The Regional Board Meeting (RBM) of National Accountability Bureau Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has approved reference against Yahya Khan, Senior Auditor, Regional Tax Office Peshawar and others regarding misappropriation of taxes and other funds. Besides, the board also authorized inquiry against officials DHO Mardan and others regarding corruption & corrupt practices. The meeting was chaired by Farmanullah Khan, Director General NAB (KP) at Peshawar. The meeting was attended by Directors, Deputy Prosecutor General (DPGA), Case Officers, and other officers concerned. Several important decisions were taken in the regional board meeting.
According to press statement issued by NAB KP here on Thursday, the board authorized inquiry against officials DHO Mardan and others regarding corruption & corrupt practices. The subjects are alleged to have misappropriation of funds allocated for standardization of hospitals, purchase of equipment's / furniture, medicines, vaccines and civil works etc.
The board authorized inquiry against officials of LG&RDD and contractor of Fun Land Shahi Bagh and Chacha Younis Park Peshawar regarding corruption & corrupt practices. The subject is alleged to have received extra money while handing-over Fun Land Shahi Bagh to the government and also got illegal contract of Chacha Younis Park in gross violation of laws.
Besides these, the board approved reference against Yahya Khan, Senior Auditor, Regional Tax Office Peshawar & others regarding misappropriation of taxes and other funds.
DG NAB (KP) vowed that as per directions of Javed Iqbal, Chairman NAB, NAB KP is determined to do across the board accountability on the basis of solid evidence as per law. He further said that eradication of corruption is not only our social and moral obligation but it also ensures prosperous future of our coming generations.
