The Karachi Port handled 262,528 tonnes of cargo comprising 199,314 tonnes of import cargo and 63,214 tonnes of export cargo including 4,518 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 199,314 tonnes comprised of 59,706 tonnes of containerised cargo; 19,594 tonnes of bulk cargo; 5,133 tonnes of canola 10,460 tonnes of rock phosphate; 13,775 tonnes of coal; 25,031 tonnes of ammonium and 65,615 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 63,214 tonnes comprised of 62,712 tonnes of containerised cargo and 502 tonnes of bulk cargo. As many as 4,518 containers comprising of 1,626 containers import and 2,892 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday. The breakup of imported containers shows 380 of 20's and 579 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 44 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 548 of 20's and 511 of 40's loaded containers while 190 of 20's and 566 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were twelve ships namely Botany Bay, Polo, APL New Jersey, Maliakos, MSC Positano, Virgo, OOCL California, Northern Dedication, Bow Mikka, Thor Integrity, UACC Falcon and Industrial Revolution carrying containers, oil tanker, coal, mogas and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were nine vessels viz. Athens Bridge, Northern Dedication, Wan Hai-515, Viego, Marika, Bow Mikka, WP Brave, Maritime Prosperity and Industrial Revolution carrying containers, oil tankers, fertilizer and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 179,336 tonnes comprising 116,465 tonnes of import cargo and 62,871 tonnes of export cargo including 3,662 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 116,465 tonnes includes 21,543 tonnes of furnace oil; 14,657 tonnes of palm oil; 52,000 tonnes of LNG; 13,408 tonnes of coal; 5,150 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 3,000 tonnes of chemical and 6,707 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 62,871 tonnes includes 62,871 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 3,662 containers comprising of 353 containers import and 3,309 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday. There were four ships namely CV Express Suez, CV APL New Jersey, CV Nicoline Maersk and MV YM Miranda carrying containers and chemical respectively sailed out to sea on Monday morning.
A total number of ten vessels viz. CV Express Suez, CV APL New Jersey, CV Nicoline Maersk, MV Euro Brave, MV Amadeus, MV Sbi Leo, MV Navios Oriana, MV YM Miranda, MT Maran Gas Asclepius and Risa were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, condensate, coal, soyabean seeds, chemical, LNG and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as sixteen ships namely CV Seamax Darien, CV MSC Pina, MV Euro Force, MV Alora, MV Shan Dong Chong Wen, MV Ocean Jort, MV Thor Brave, MV Spar Vega, MV JS Green Sail, MT Maria-III, MT Glorious, MT Freight Margie, MT Jo Pinari, MT Maritime Lira, MT Summer Dariegn, and MT Phonix Nereid carrying steel product, condensate, soyabean, coal, chemical, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were three vessels viz. CV MSC Pina, CV Seamax Darien and MV Spar Vega carrying containers and coal respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Iron Ore and Coal Berth respectively on Monday.
There were two ships namely CV MSC Tomoko and CV Maersk Chicago carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday.
