The funeral prayers of former Muttahida Qaumi Movement - Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Ali Raza Abidi were offered on Wednesday at Karachi's Imam Bargah Yasrab in Defence Housing Authority (DHA).

The funeral prayers was led by Allama Hasan Zafar Naqvi, which The funeral was attended by MQM-P and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leadership, local media reported.

The former MQM-P MNA was gunned down on Tuesday night. Two unidentified gunmen opened fire at him outside his residence. Abidi was rushed to the hospital but could not survive. According to the medical reports, the former MNA sustained bullet wounds on neck and chest.

The police have started investigation and have already taken Abidi's guard into custody for interrogation. Speaking to the media, Farooq Sattar claimed that Abidi had been receiving death threats.
