Leaders of business community of Sindh warmly welcomed and congratulated Caretaker Ministers from Punjab, KPK and Balochistan, at an impressive ceremony organized by Businessmen Panel Sindh at a hotel here recently.
Caretaker ministers included Mian Anjum Nisar, Punjab Minister for Commerce, Industries, Investment, Mines & Minerals; Mian Nauman Kabir, Punjab Minister for Livestock & Dairy Development; Haji Fazal Elahi, KPK Minister for Energy & Power; Mir Naveed Jan Baloch Kalmati, Balochistan Minister for Public Health and Coastal Development Authority; Imam Bakhsh Baloch, Balochistan Minister for Finance; Malik Khuram Shahzad, Balochistan Minister for Information and Farzana Baloch, Balochistan Minister for Women, Population and Social Works.
Zakaria Usman welcomed ministers and guests who had come in large numbers from all over Pakistan to honour the caretaker ministers. Mian Nasser Hyatt Magoo was the convener of the event, which was presided over by Tariq Sayeed. Sultan Ahmed Chawla thanked the governments of Punjab, KPK and Balochistan for reposing confidence in the business community by appointing businessmen as caretaker ministers.
The caretaker ministers also spoke on the occasion. Mian Anjum Nisar said that being businessmen/industrialists themselves, caretaker ministers understand the issues and problems of trade and industry. He assured the business community to resolve pending issues at the earliest.
Haji Fazal Elahi said KPK had large gas reserves and invited businessmen to invest in energy projects in KPK. Naveed Jan Baloch Kalmati said Balochistan was a mineral-rich province and invited businessmen to visit his province and take advantage of various investment opportunities. Nauman Kabir said that vast potential exists for export of livestock and agriculture products and sincere efforts are being made to increase exports by providing assistance to private sector. Imam Bakhsh Baloch invited businessmen to invest in Balochistan and assured that he would revive Board of Investment to attract investment.
Malik Khuram Shahzad spoke about lack of investment in the past which resulted in many economic and social issues in the largest province of the country. Farzana Baloch promised to improve conditions in Balochistan.
Prominent business leader Mehtabuddin Chawla, speaking on the occasion emphasized that growth in export is the only viable solution for economic prosperity while Aqeel Karim Dehdi underlined the need for more reforms in the economic and financial sector for rapid growth. Tariq Sayeed expressed his happiness over the appointment of businessmen and industrialists as Caretaker Ministers and hoped they would perform their duties to the best of their abilities for promotion of trade and industry. Amjad Rafi thanked the caretaker ministers and the distinguished guests for gracing the occasion. A large contingent of women business leaders and entrepreneurs were also present at the event.
Later, large number of business personalities presented flower bouquets and garlands to the Caretaker Ministers. Prominent leaders included among others, Mian Zahid Hussain, Shaukat Ahmed, Mian Nasser Hyatt Magoo, Abdul Raheem Janoo, Yahya Polani, Akbar Puri, Riaz Khattak, Sheikh Aslam, Khawaja Shahzeb Akram, Wali Khan, Khalid Amin, Shaikh Manzar Alam, Saquib Fayyaz Magoon, Sheikh Sultan Rehman, Chaudhry Naseer, Shabbir Mansha, Din Mohammad Dadabhoy, Khalid Ansari, Shahid Anwal, Ghulam Mustafa Solangi, Bashir Mangario, Hina Mansab Khan, Nazli Abid, Mehreen Elahi, Seema Shahbaz.
