Federal Ombudsperson against Harassment of Women, Kashmala Tariq urged the women to come out of the culture of silence and make their voices heard. She stated this while addressing a seminar titled 'Tracking Job Quota for the Women in Punjab,' held by Peace and Development Foundation (PDF) here on Wednesday.
Kashmala Tariq said the office of Ombudsperson is always there to provide amicable support to the victims of harassment. However, she said, the issue of harassment is deeply ingrained in the society and there is a need to join hands at every level to provide an enabling environment to women in society and to encourage them to play their active role in different spectrums of life.
She emphasized on the measures to pledge the enhanced political and economic participation of women in different spectrums of life Kashmala also informed the audience that FOSPAH has started working with several chambers of commerce and other relevant forums to improve the working environment for the women.
