As the rain-thundershower inundates the upcountry, humid weather continues to soak Karachi with expected temperature up to 36 degrees Celsius in the next 48 hours, the Met Office said on Thursday. Mainly hot and humid weather is expected in the most parts of the country with an isolated rain-thundershower and gusty winds in Malakand, Zhob, D.G. Khan, and Bahawalpur Divisions besides Gilgit-Baltistan on Friday.
Humidity in Karachi is expected to remain up to 75 percent on Friday and Saturday with partly cloudy weather and chances of drizzles. Temperature is likely up to 36 degrees Celsius on July 6 and July 7.
Maximum temperature in the country was 43 degrees Celsius recorded in Turbat and Padidan and then came Nokkundi and Sakrand's 41 degree centigrade each in the past 24 hours.
On Thursday: Scattered rain-thundershower with gusty winds fell in Malakand, Hazara Divisions and South Punjab, while isolated fall in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala and Lahore Divisions, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. Hot weather remained elsewhere in the country.
Bahawalpur received maximum rainfall at its Airport 75 mm and City 16 mm, Kakul and Khanpur 23 mm, each, Islamabad (Saidpur 22 mm, Zero Point 14 mm, Golra and Bokra 12 mm each), Pattan 18 mm, Rahim Yar Khan 14 mm, Upper and Lower Dir 12 mm, Murree 11 mm, Parachinar 10 mm, Okara and D.G. Khan, Kalam, Gilgit and Bagrot 9 mm each, Rawalpindi 8 mm and Malamjabba 7 mm.
"Seasonal Low lies over North Balochistan. Weak monsoon currents are still penetrating central parts of the country. A westerly wave is still affecting western parts of the country," the Met said.
