The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Thursday devised a working strategy with the cooperation of banks representatives to resolve the 'fake army calls scam'. Director FIA chaired a meeting attended by various bank representatives including Regional Operational mangers and officers of the Fraud Management Unit of HBL, UBL and ABL banks, said a press release issued here by the agency.
During the meeting, FIA raised the instant issue with bank representatives and also requested them to extend their assistance and cooperation in this regard.
The hindrances in investigation were discussed thoroughly and a working strategy was devised to resolve the scam promptly. FIA also advised the bank representatives to increase the cyber security of their system to curb the occurrence of such incidents in future.
Moreover, the banks should launch a vigorous mass-awareness campaign to aware their customers not to share their personal information and banking details especially pin code of ATM/Debit Card/Online banking with anyone.
The public is also advised not to respond to any call from dubious numbers and unknown persons or share their personal data. The meeting was concluded on the note that FIA and banks will join hands to bring the culprits to book.
It may be mentioned here that the FIA has busted a gang three days back involved in swindling millions of rupees by impersonating military officials or by luring people with hefty lotteries over phone calls in Punjab.
