Caretaker Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Barrister Ali Zafar has said that holding of transparent, peaceful and timely elections is prime responsibility of caretaker government. Talking to media persons after visiting the Mazar-e-Quaid, here on Saturday, the minister urged media to create awareness among people in this regard.
To a question he said formulation of electoral code of conduct is prerogative of election commission and caretaker government is bound to ensure its implementation. "Similarly, PEMRA is autonomous in its decisions however government could only facilitate it in implementing its decision," he said. Earlier, Barrister Ali Zafar laid floral wreath at grave of father of the nation and offered Fateha.
He inaugurated water treatment plant in the premises of Mazar as well. He was also briefed by the administration of the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam about various issues relating to the Mazar-e-Quaid.
