The petition of Safeer Hussain Shah Advocate before the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on code of conduct to be obeyed by all political parties is related to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Advocate Safeer informed Business Recorder here on Sunday that the petition was related to the election campaign on electronic and print media by PTI and not Tehreek Labbaik (TL). It is clarified for all concerned that the petition has taken the plea of ongoing election campaign on media by PTI and not the TL.
It was erroneously reported that the petition was based on election campaign of TL. Even the petition categorically talked about the election campaign of PTI.
The advocate feared that the other political parties including TL will also run the negative campaign against one another which will be against the code of conduct and impression of this campaign will affect the people of Pakistan very negatively and demoralize them. This type of negative campaign of political parties will disappoint and demoralize the people of Pakistan, besides being illegal and against the ECP's code of conduct, the advocate added.
