Prices of essential food commodities, except chicken meat, fruits, sugar and flour have remained unchanged in retail market, according to survey conducted by Business Recorder here on Sunday. A considerably decrease in prices of chicken meat/products was witnessed in retail market as available at Rs 176 per kilogram against the price of Rs 214 per kilogram in the previous week, the survey noticed. However, it further added that price of a dozen of eggs was remained unchanged as available at Rs 100-90.
Similarly, cow meat is being sold at Rs 350-400 per kilogram against the official rate of Rs 300 per kilogram in retail market. Likewise, it noticed that a liter of fresh milk is being available at Rs 120 against the official price of Rs 90 per liter, while yogurt is being sold at Rs 120 per kilogram against the official rate of Rs 80 per kilogram in the retail market.
It was witnessed that the prices of pulses have remained high-side in retail market as no significant change or decrease was witnessed in previous week as compared to the last week. Gram flour (baisen) being available at Rs 120 per kilogram, the noticed. It further said that one-kilogram good quality (sela) rice was sold at Rs 145 while other at Rs 135 per kg. Tota rice is being available at Rs 70 per kilogram which was selling at Rs 75 per kilogram in the previous week.
Dal mash was available at Rs 120-110 per kg in retail market, while dal channa priced at Rs 100 per kg, the survey said. It added that Dal masoor is being sold at Rs80 per kg, which was selling at Rs 90 per kilogram in the retail market. Similarly, the price of dal chilka (green) went down at Rs 110 from Rs 120 per kilogram. However, the price of dhoti dal remained unchanged as available at Rs 90 per kg. Red bean is available at Rs 120-110 per kilogram, which was selling at Rs 140 per kilogram in the previous week. The price of the big-size white channa has decreased at Rs 140-150 from Rs 160 per kilogram in the retail market. Likewise, a one-kilogram white lobiya is being sold at Rs 120 per kilogram. Red bean is being sold at Rs 140 per kilogram. The retail price of One-kilogram moong is Rs 120, while dal chilka (black) colour is being sold at Rs 140 per kilogram.
According to the survey, the prices of different brands/quality of cooking oil/ghee were remained stable in retail market as no significant increase or change was witnessed in the previous week, as available within range of Rs 120, Rs 140 and Rs 165 and Rs 175 per liter/kilo in retail market.
According to the survey, one-kilogram red flour is being sold at Rs 45, mehda at Rs 50 per kilogram and fine atta is being sold at Rs 48 per kilogram in retail market. Sugar priced in retail market at Rs 54 per kilogram against the rate of Rs 55 per kilogram in the previous week.
Mango is being sold at Rs 100-80 per kilogram, which was selling at Rs 120-150 per kilogram in the previous week, the survey said. It added that one-kilogram green coloured apple available at Rs80, while red-coloured is being sold at Rs 200-150 per kilogram in retail market. Melon is being sold at Rs 40 per kilogram which was selling at Rs 50 per kilo during the previous week.
Apricot is being sold at Rs 100-110 per kilogram in the retail market, which was available at Rs 150 per kilogram in the previous week. A one-kilogram plum is being available at Rs 120-150 in retail market. Litchi is being available at Rs 250-300 per kilogram. Grapes are being sold at Rs 200-150 per kilogram. Peach is being sold at Rs 120 per kilogram.
