The crime rate in the federal capital showed an increase during the last week as over eight cases of various kinds of thefts, six case of carjacking, five murder cases and three cases of kidnapping were reported to various police stations of the city. According to data gathered by Business Recorder, most "favourite" areas for the criminal gangs were within the limits of Koral, Kohsar, Ramna and Sabzi Mandi police stations.
During the last week, Koral police station registered one case each of robbery and auto theft as well as four cases of murder. Rakhil Afzal informed Koral police station that unknown robbers snatched his car bearing registration RU-3454, mobile phone and cash from him at gunpoint. Four persons including Sheikh Yasir, Chaudhry Raheem, Raziq, and Abdul Ghani were murdered in the limits of Koral police station.
Kohsar police station registered two cases of robbery during the last week. Basit Shakeel filed a complaint with Kohsar police station that his manager Asmat Ullah stole money. Another Asad Mehmood informed Kohsar police station that unknown robbers stole money and mobile phone cards from his shop.
During the last week, Ramna police station registered two cases of kidnapping. Qamar Akhlaq lodged a complaint with Ramna police station that accused Ijaz and others kidnapped his wife. Sher Akbar informed Ramna police station that accused Saeed kidnapped his daughter. In the aforementioned period, Sabzi Mandi police station registered two cases of auto theft. Motor vehicle thieves stole two bikes (RIQ-1109 and RIL-3977) of Khalil Afghani and Abdur Rehman respectively.
