Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has commenced its Pre-Hajj operation 2018 from July 14, with two flights - PK 7001 from Karachi to Madinah and PK 7003 from Islamabad to Madinah. According to details, the national flag carrier will transport over 60,000 intending pilgrims through approximately 250 Hajj and regular scheduled flights to Jeddah and Madinah from Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Karachi, Sialkot, Multan and Faisalabad stations.
The airline will lift nearly 13,152 intending pilgrims from Islamabad, some 12,456 from Lahore, 8,559 from Peshawar, 10,124 from Karachi, 3,787 from Sialkot, 4903 from Multan and 1,122 intending pilgrims from Faisalabad. While more than 2,600 intending pilgrims will be transported from Sukkur and Rahim Yar Khan with onward connections. It includes 40,700 through government Hajj scheme whereas 20,500 through private schemes which include nearly 4,500 intending pilgrims expected from Quetta through private scheme. PIA spokesman said that President & CEO PIA, Musharraf Rasool Cyan instructed PIA officials and staff to ensure proper arrangements from flight take off to arrival at Saudi Arabia and provide all major assistance to the pilgrims at airports in both countries.
The airline's Pre-Hajj operation will conclude on August 15, 2018 and the Post-Hajj operation will commence from August 27, 2018 till September 25, 2018.
