Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Saturday discussed the country's overall political situation, arrests of Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz, recent acts of terrorism in the election-related activities and matters concerning general elections in the country. The consultative meeting that held at the residence of PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif, was attended among others by the former PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, AJK PM Raja Farooq Haider, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Marriyum Auranzeb, Saleem Zia, Ahsan Iqbal, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and PML-N candidates from Lahore.
Addressing the meeting, Shahbaz Sharif said the PML-N workers and supporters have proved their love with the party leadership by actively participating in Nawaz home coming rally removing all the hurdles. He expressed the optimism that the people from Khyber to Karachi would come out of their houses on July 25 to vote the PML-N candidates.
In the meeting, strategy was also discussed to thwart any attempt of rigging on July 25. It was informed that the PML-N has already established an anti-rigging cell to look into rigging complaints and take appropriate action. Sources revealed that the meeting also decided to gear up the party's election campaign by spreading the party's narrative at every nook and corner of the country. The party candidates would also be asked to go door to door in their election campaign in their respective constituencies. The former attorney general of Pakistan Ashter Ausaf Ali also briefed the meeting about legal points to be taken up in the appeals against the decision of accountability court in the Avenfield reference.
