Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is said to have obtained information in respect of immovable properties owned by Pakistanis in the United Kingdom (UK) with the assistance of Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and UK Tax Authorities.
The country's tax machinery is required to tread this path quite carefully. It must not lose sight of the fact that the Pakistani diaspora based in the UK has been making highly valuable contributions towards Pakistan's social and economic sectors in particular. The government move must not cause any unnecessary inconvenience to them. After all, the UK has one of best tax machineries in the world. In this country people have innate sense of fairness and justice in the system.
