Provincial Caretaker Minister for Irrigation, Public Health Engineering & Rural Development, Inter Provincial Coordination and Excise and Taxation Mushtaq Ahmed Shah has said steps are being taken to stop the incidents of water theft to provide relief to the growers especially to those who are at the tail end.
He said that overall water supply situation in canals are satisfactory. Presiding over a meeting, he expressed his satisfaction over the action taken against water thieves and asked to speed up the raids against those who were involved in water theft. The meeting was informed that in last couple of days 46 FIRs have been lodged against persons for being involved in water stealing cases and barriers were removed at 43 sites in Khairpur, Badin and Umerkot districts during joint operation, conducted by irrigation officials , rangers and police.
