Election duty: Lahore police issued security cards

The Lahore police on Thursday issued security cards to all police officers who will be deployed inside and outside of all the polling stations in the provincial capital. Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Shahzad Akbar told reporters that all cops will be liable to fix these cards on their uniforms during the Election Day otherwise strict disciplinary action will take place. He said all the security arrangements have been finalised for holding peaceful polls, adding that the duty points of the cops will be monitored through CCTV cameras.
According to the DIG, all senior police officers will also be liable to ensure proper attendance of their subordinates during elections. He said the deputed officers will also ensure strict implementation of the Election Commission's code of conduct.
