PML-N president Shahbaz Sharif on Friday said that after coming into power he would develop Khyber Pakhtunkhwa like Punjab in terms of development and prosperity. While addressing at a public meeting in Mingora, district Swat, he slammed the five-year performance of the PTI government in KP and said that huge corruption was witnessed in rapid bus project, billion tree tsunami and in other sectors which were being probed by NAB and Peshawar High Court.
He said he was happy to see the hospitality of Swat people. He hoped that people would exercise their right to vote in favour of PML-N in recognition of PML-N leadership's sacrifice for the nation.
He said Nawaz Sharif came to Pakistan while leaving behind his ailing wife in critical condition to face charges against him. He said Imran Khan claimed that PTI generated 72MW of electricity during the last five years but couldn't get repair an 80MW power plant which was installed by the previous government.
To the contrary, he said the PML-N government under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif added 11,000MW of cheapest electricity to national grid and ensured revival of industries and power supply to schools and hospitals. Shahbaz expressed gratitude to people of Malakand for endorsing trust in his leadership and promised that if given a chance to serve them, he would first initiate development projects in Malakand division especially in NA-3 Swat-11.
He pledged that he would establish Danish School like projects, colleges, universities and hospitals in Swat, Mingora and Malakand on priority bases.
Referring to Peshawar Rapid Bus Project, he said the project is one of the biggest corruption evidence against PTI government, adding that Peshawar High Court had already taken notice of the cost escalation of the project. He said that 27km long Lahore metro was constructed at a cost of Rs 30 billion while 26km long Peshawar bust project is being constructed at a cost of over Rs 68 billion against the initial cost of Rs 40 billion.
He said the court mentioned in its decision that the project contract was awarded to an already blacklisted company. He questioned that where had the billion trees gone which was claimed by the PTI government that it had planted.
