The Karachi Port handled 232,318 tonnes of cargo comprising 184,588 tonnes of import cargo and 47,730 tonnes of export cargo including 4,801 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 184,588 tonnes comprised of 80,974 tonnes of containerised cargo; 12,954 tonnes of bulk cargo; 27,578 tonnes of coal and 63,082 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 47,730 tonnes comprised of 43,723 tonnes of containerised cargo; 407 tonnes of bulk cargo and 3,600 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 4,801 containers comprising of 2,083 containers import and 2,718 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 523 of 20's and 780 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and nil of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 201 of 20's and 207 of 40's loaded containers while 277 of 20's and 913 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There were eleven ships namely SM Vancouver, ETE-N, OOCL Shanghai, Libra, Talassa, Hyundai Courage, MT Quetta, Glovis Maestro, Everrich-7, Maersk Trenton and SSI Invincible carrying containers, oil tanker, coal, chemical, mogas and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were nine vessels viz. Libra, Talassa, Hyundai Courage, Future Wing, Ardmore Exporter, Trysil Spirit, BW Zambesi, Al Mahboobah and Da Tai carrying containers, oil tankers, chemical and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 151,705 tonnes comprising 96,263 tonnes of import cargo and 55,442 tonnes of export cargo including 6,011 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 96,263 tonnes includes 26,051 tonnes of diesel oil; 5,000 tonnes of palm oil; 2,670 tonnes of coal; 3,775 tonnes of soyabean seeds and 58,767 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 55,442 tonnes includes 55,442 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 6,011 containers comprising of 3,093 containers import and 2,918 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday. There were two ships namely CV MS Tiger and MT Chemroad Wing carrying containers and palm oil respectively sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while four ships namely CV Safmarine Ngami, CV CMA CGM Fidelio, MV Genuine Venus and MT Horizon carrying containers, chemical and palm oil respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eleven vessels viz. CV Safmarine Ngami, CV CMA CGM Fidelio, CV MS Tiger, MV Lowland Future, MV African Baza, MV Genuine Venus, MV Gisela Oldandroff, MT Glorious, MT Chemroad Wing and MT Horizon were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, chemical, diesel oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as nine ships namely CV Songa Calabria, MV Sun Shine, MV Alora, MV Diva, MV Inter Republic, MT Pike, MT Glorious, MT Meltemi and MT Yufu carrying containers, barges/boats, soyabean, coal, chemical, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five vessels viz. CV MSC Rochele, MV Diva, MT Gas Caspian, MT LNG Lusail and MT Yufu carrying containers, coal, LNG and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Iron Ore and Coal Berth, Engro Elengy Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Monday.
