Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar Tuesday took notice of lease of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) land to oil companies at "low" prices in Lahore. The notice was taken on an application of Abdullah Malik. Malik stated the land was allotted on throwaway prices illegally that needs proper investigation. Taking notice of the issue, the Chief Justice has directed the LDA director general to submit comments before next date of hearing i.e. July 26, 2018.
Further, the Chief Justice has directed that the entire record of writ petitions pertaining to disputed petrol pumps pending before the Lahore High Court be requisitioned. The members of the committee constituted to resolve the issue have also been directed to be present in the court on next date of hearing.
The owners/proprietors or the management of the disputed petrol pumps who have stakes have been directed to appear before the court on July 26 through publication of this press release in media.
