The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Friday sought reply from Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute (PKLTI) and Punjab government after a forensic audit report unveiled misappropriation of public money in the centre. Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar was hearing a suo motu notice on poor performance and deteriorating condition of PKLTI.
The CJP asked PKLTI Chief Dr Akhtar to stop campaign on social media and added that "everything is in the knowledge of court. Strict action would be taken if the campaign was not stopped," the CJP warned. The CJP rejecting the request of the counsel of PKLTI to stop media coverage of the court proceedings made it clear that media coverage was according to the facts. The court sought replies from PKLTI and Punjab government by August 21.
