Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is leading in the National Assembly with 115 seats followed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) with 64 and 43 seats, respectively. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Saturday released provisional results of all 270 National Assembly seats and 571 provincial assemblies' seats on which the elections were held on July 25.
The results show that Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) has won 12 seats followed by Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), 6, and four each by Pakistan Muslim League (PML) and Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) in the Lower House of the Parliament.
Balochistan National Party (BNP) has won 3 seats, Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA), 2, and Awami National Party, Awami Muslim League, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaniat and Jamhoori Watan Party each won one seat in the National Assembly, according to the ECP.
The provisional results show that 13 independents have also won the National Assembly seat and they would be required to join a political party, if they wish so, within three days of the notification of official results.
According to the ECP results, the PML-N is leading in Punjab with 129 seats out of 295 seats followed by the PTI with 123 seats. A total of 28 independents won in the province and four of them joined the PTI on Saturday. The PML has won 7 seats in the province followed by PPP with 6 seats and Pakistan Awami Raj party with one seat.
In Sindh, PPP is leading with 76 seats out of 129 followed by PTI with 23 seats, MQM-P, 16, GDA, 11, Tehreek Labbaik Pakistan, 2 and MMA won one seat. The PTI has swept elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province with 66 seats out of 97 seats. The MMA in the province has secured 10 seats, independents and ANP grabbed 6 seats each, PML-N won five while PPP secured four seats.
In Balochistan province, the newly-formed BAP is ahead with 15 seats out of 50 followed by MMA with 9 seats. The BNP has won 6 seats, PTI, 4, ANP and BNP-Awami, 3 each, Hazara Democratic Party, 2, and PML-N, Jamhoori Watan Party and Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami party each won one seat. Five independents have also won the provincial assembly seats in Balochistan.
