An accountability court hearing corruption cases against the Sharif family members adjourned hearing of the Al-Azizia Steel Mills and Hill Metals Establishment and Flagship corruption references till July 31 without any proceedings on Monday. At the start of hearing, Judge Muhammad Bashir inquired about the presence of Nawaz's counsel Khawaja Haris. On this Zafer Khan, junior counsel for Sharif's legal team, told the court that Haris is on his way to court.
The court also asked when Islamabad High Court (IHC) will take up the Sharif family's pleas against the Avenfield verdict. Zafer Khan replied that their appeals will be heard on Tuesday.
The judge then adjourned the hearing for a short time to allow Sharif's counsel to appear before the court. Following the break, the court observed that it would wait for the IHC's instructions and adjourned hearing till August 1.
