On the orders of Supreme Court of Pakistan, PG Induction Committee has been reconstituted for the admission of post-graduate trainee doctors in the teaching hospitals and specialized healthcare institutions.
The first meeting of reconstituted committee was held here on Tuesday with secretary health Saqib Zafar in the chair. The committee members were briefed about the policy and procedure of online central induction for the post-graduate trainee doctors under Punjab residency program.
The vice-chancellor (VC) King Edward Medical University Prof Khalid Masood Gondal, VC University of Health Sciences Prof Javed Akram, VC Fatima Jinnah Medical University Dr Amir Zaman Khan, VC Rawalpindi Medical University Dr Muhammad Umer, Principal Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences Prof Mehmood Ayaz, Prof Syed Muhammad Awais, Director Punjab Information Technology Board Badar Munir, Additional Secretary (Technical) P&S Health Dr Shehnaz, Additional Secretary SH&ME Dr Salman Shahid, Deputy Secretary Medical Education Dr Shahid Latif and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
While addressing the meeting, Saqib Zafar said that the PG induction committee would meet on weekly basis to resolve the issues on fast track related to the induction of PG doctors. If needed, improvement would be made in the PG induction system, he said.
