Majority members of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council (KP BC) has rejected the results of the recent general elections and said that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and interim government have completely failed in conducting free, fair, independent and impartial elections. In this connection, a meeting of KP BC passed a resolution with majority vote. Expressing reservations, the bar council demanded transparent inquiry against the allegations of rigging.
The meeting also called for holding open court inquiry on allegations against Justice Shaukat Siddiqui in presence of the representatives of Pakistan Bar Council, provincial bar councils, media and civil society and provide clearance opportunity to all groups so the requirement of justice could be meet.
