Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is likely to get 27 reserved seats for women and five for religious minorities out of a total of 60 reserved seats for women and 10 for minorities in the 342-member National Assembly. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will get 14 reserved seats for women and two reserved for minorities. Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will get 10 seats reserved for women and one for minorities.
This allocation is calculated on the basis of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP)'s formula for allocation of reserved seats to each parliamentary party based on their numerical strength in the National Assembly.
As per formula, one reserved seat for women will be allocated on 4.5 general seats and one reserved seat for minorities will be allocated on 27 general seats in the assembly.
Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) may get three reserved seats for women, and one each for Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Pakistan Muslim League, Balochistan Awami Party and Balochistan National Party.
The PTI's prominent nominees for the reserved seats in National Assembly include Dr Shireen Mazari, Munaza Hassan, Andleeb Abbas, Asma Qadeer, Aliya Hamza, Javeria Zafar, Kanwal Shauzab, Dr Seemi Bukhari, Sobia Kamal, Nosheen Hamid, Rubina Jamil, Maleeka Bokhari, Fouzia Bahram, Rukhsana Naveed, Tashfeen Safdar, Wajeeha Ikram, Asiya Azeem, and Mashaam Hassan.
The PML-N's 14 women on reserved seats include Tahira Aurangzeb, Shaista Pervez Malik, Ayesha Rajab Baloch, Marriyum Aurangzeb, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Ayesha Ghaus Pasha, Zahra Wadood Fatemi, Kiran Dar, Romina Khurshid Alam, Musarrat Asif Khawaja, Zeb Jaffar, Dr Samina Matloob, Shahnaz Saleem, and Seema Jilani.
The PPP's women candidates include Hina Rabbani Khar, Neelum Jabbar, Palwasha Zai, Itrat Bano Gilani, Mahreen Anwar Raja, Natasha Daultana, Nasira Meo, Raheela Baloch, Beelum Hasnain, Samina Mushtaq Paganwala, Zahida Ansar, Lubna Ch and Malaika Raza.
Awami National Party, Grand Democratic Alliance, Awami Muslim League, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaniat and Jamhoori Wattan Party will not get any reserved seats in the National Assembly. But their support to any other party or their allies will help add a reserved seat in their total number in the House.
