Mutahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) leaders in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have expressed serious reservations over the results of the general election 2018 and alleged massive rigging in the whole electoral process.
Speaking at a news conference at Peshawar Press Club on Thursday, Sabir Hussain Awan, MMA Peshawar chapter president and candidate for NA-28 termed the whole election process a facade and lamented the role of police and army for expelling the polling agents of different political parties from polling stations at the time of counting of votes.
Mualana Khairul Bashar, KP Ameer of Jamiat Ulema-e Islam (F), Qari Muhammad Asif, General Secretary of MMA and Haji Ghulam Ali and others were present during the press conference. Moreover, Sabir Awan expressed strong reservations over the role of District Returning officers (DROs) and ROs in manipulating the election results and not providing Form 45 to the contesting candidates in due time.
Haji Ghulam Ali on the occasion alleged that election 2018 was an arranged marriage for the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf and security forces through Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) played a very vital role in rigging the polls and thus forcing the masses to raise accusing fingers at the credibility and impartiality of ECP.
He further alleged that the President of MMA, Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Vice President, Sirajul Haq and the leadership of different political parties through a well-planned conspiracy were kept out of the Parliament. He said that through consultation with the senior leadership of MMA, the provincial leaders would hold a protest demonstration against the massive rigging in the elections 2018 in the near future.
