The Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL) has decided to set up seven temporary markets for the sale of sacrificial animals in the provincial capital. In this connection, District Commissioner Lahore Captain Anwarul Haq (r) chaired a meeting here on Thursday to chalk out a plan for these markets. In the meeting, officials from Rescue 1122, Wasa, Civil Defence, health authority and Punjab Police were present. While addressing a meeting, the DC said that soon they will announce a plan for these sacrificial markets. A shuttle service will also be started besides setting up medial camps in these markets, he added.
He directed the livestock department to spray these markets in order to protect animals from Congo virus. He also asked the concerned officials to ensure provision of water, tents and cleanliness.
