A mixed trend in prices of essential food commodities was witnessed as some items remained unchanged while other slightly increased in retail market, according to the survey conducted by Business Recorderon Sunday. Prices of chicken products are continued to downward for the couple of weeks in retail market as available at Rs 122 per kilogram, which was selling at Rs 145 per kilogram. In the retail market, a dozen of eggs are being sold at Rs 100-90.
Vendors have blamed the local administration for strict check on prices, due to which they have faced immensely business loss. They urged the authorities to review the fresh price mechanism to avoid them further losses. Similarly, the price of tomato has decreased at Rs 40 per kilogram which was selling at Rs 60 per kg in retail market. However, the price of one-kilogram onion has increased at Rs 40 per kilogram against the price of Rs 30 per kilogram in the previous week. Red-coloured potato is being sold at Rs 40 per kilogram while new potato was priced at Rs 60 per kg in retail market. One kilogram cucumber available at Rs 40. Green chilli is being sold at Rs 80 per kilogram in retail market. Lemon is available at Rs 120 per kg.
Price of one-kilogram ginger had increased at Rs 200 per kg from Rs 160 per kilogram in retail market. However, the retail price of garlic was remained unchanged at Rs 70-80 per kilogram. Price of cauliflower increased at Rs 70 per kilogram which was selling at Rs 40 per kilogram in retail market. Cabbage was priced at Rs 50 per kilogram, while apple gourd, bottle gourd and ridge gourd prices range between Rs 40 and Rs 50 per kg.
The price of per kg lady finger is tagged at Rs 80, while capsicum is being sold at Rs 50-60 per kg. Arvi is being sold at Rs 60 per kilogram. According to the survey, the prices of pulses/food grains are remained unchanged in retail market, as a one-kilogram good quality (sela) rice was being sold at Rs 150 per kilogram while other at Rs 135 per kg.
Price of tota rice has increased at Rs 80 per kilogram from Rs 70 per kilogram, the survey said. It added good quality gram flour (baisen) being available at Rs 115 per kilogram and other at Rs 90 per kg in retail market, it added. Dal mash was available at Rs 120-110 per kg in retail market, while daal channa priced at Rs 100 per kg, the survey said. It added that Daal masoor is being sold at Rs 80 per kg, which was selling at Rs 90 per kilogram in the retail market.
Similarly, the price of daal chihlka (green) went down at Rs 110 from Rs 120 per kilogram. However, the price of dhoti dal remained unchanged as available at Rs 90 per kg. Red bean is available at Rs 120-110 per kilogram, which was selling at Rs 140 per kilogram in the previous week. The price of the big-size white channa has decreased at Rs 140-150 from Rs 160 per kilogram in the retail market.
Likewise, a one-kilogram white lobiya is being sold at Rs 100 per kilogram, which was selling at Rs 110 per kilogram in the previous week in retail market. Red bean is being sold at Rs 110 per kilogram against the price of Rs 120 per kilogram in retail market. The retail price of One-kilogram moonge is Rs 100 against the price of Rs 120 per kg in the previous week, while daal chihlka (black) colour is being sold at Rs 140 per kilogram.
According to the survey, the prices of different brands/quality of cooking oil/ghee were remained stable in retail market as no significant increase or change was witnessed in the previous week, as available within range of Rs 130, Rs 150 and Rs 165 and Rs 180 per litre/kilo in retail market.
Fresh milk is being sold at Rs 110-120 per litre against the official rate of Rs 90 per litre while yogurt available at Rs 110-120 per kilo against official rate of Rs 80 per kilo in local market.
Red colour Chinese apple is available at Rs 150 per kg, light green colour apples are available at Rs 80-100 per kilogram. A dozen of banana is being sold at Rs 50-60. Peach is being sold at Rs 150 per kg, mangoes are being available at Rs 80-60 per kilogram.
